The St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Homeschool Group strives to work in a collaborative spirit with the Archdiocese of Louisville. As a Catholic Homeschool group we honor Mary and all of the Saints under of the special patronage of St. Thomas Aquinas. The Eucharist is the center of our faith community, in accordance with the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church. We strive to live as Jesus taught us to "love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind," and to "love your neighbor as yourself" Matthew 22: 37-39.

Our mission is to help grow Catholic families for the greater glory of God and in union with the Magisterium of the Church. We recognize and support homeschooling in a variety of forms from full home curriculum to supplemental education. We affirm parents as the primary teachers of their children. The St. Thomas Aquinas Group is focused on creating an environment for our children that is consistent with teachings of the Catholic Church. There is no expectation that anyone in the group is a 100% knowledgeable about all Catholic teachings. I hereby release St. Thomas Aquinas Homeschool Group, and its agents, representatives, volunteers, officers, directors, and benefactors from any and all liability for damage and injury to my children or myself or any person or property during the time of my children’s attendance at St. Thomas Aquinas Homeschool group activities, wherever they may be held, whether or not such damages were sustained in connection with any St. Thomas Aquinas Homeschool Group activities. I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless St. Thomas Aquinas Homeschool Group, and its agents, representatives, volunteers, officers, directors, and benefactors from any loss, liability, attorney’s fees, damage or costs, including the cost or expenses arising in connection with injuries or damage sustained or caused by my children, myself, and any other guest I bring along. 7. Sickness at Clubs:

I will not knowingly bring a sick child/adult to clubs this year. Even if you are sure it is not Covid, we are asking that you stay home if your family has a member that has a fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of taste/smell, congestion/runny nose, vomiting, or diarrhea.

I agree to complete, or have completed, my Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training and Archdiocesan Background Check.

Each adult is required to provide certificates of completion of the Archdiocese of Louisville Child Safe Environment Training (SET) and obtain background checks specifically with the Archdiocese of Louisville. This certification and background check are to be renewed every five (5) years.

All members MUST attend and provide certification from this training AND a date of the background check for full registration. We are required to report our members' status every 3 months to the Archdiocese of Louisville.

1. A copy of SET course certificate AND

2. The date you completed the Background Check

To obtain a background check: Please email the SET Coordinator for the Archdiocese of Louisville, Scott Fitzgerald, and explain you are joining St. Thomas Aquinas Homeschool Group and need a background check. Mr. Fitzgerald's email is: sfitzgerald@archlou.org.

To obtain initial in-person SET Training Certificate: For upcoming SET training sessions, please visit https://www.archlou.org/about-the-archdiocese/archdiocesan-policies-guidelines-and-handbooks/restoringtrust/safe/.

If you think you are up to date but don't have the SET certificate or date of Background Check, you may email the SET Coordinator for the Archdiocese of Louisville, Scott Fitzgerald, and provide him your name at the time you think you completed the certificate or background check and at which parish. Mr. Fitzgerald will confirm the details of your status which you may pass along via email to our current SET Coordinator (Lindsay Gehl: fraulindsay@gmail.com). 9. Clubs:

Please indicate if you intend to attend the monthly Catholic Clubs at Immaculate Conception parish in La Grange, KY, on the 3rd Friday of the month.

Participation requires parents volunteering as either group leaders or helpers. Assistance is also needed for set-up and clean-up, including sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables, taking out trash and arranging rooms to original layout. Yes

We run the group on volunteers, so please prayerfully think about how you can help! Please check out our list of opportunites in the files or on the forum. If you have a special service you can provide, please let us know! Or list your special talent or area you would like to help in!

If attending Catholic Clubs, please list which class or group you will co-lead or help in.

11. Yearly Dues:

Yearly Dues are due no later than the third Friday in September each year (first Clubs meeting of the year). You may pay in person with Cash or Check, or through Paypal. New members will be given the name and info of our Treasurer once they are approved.
