Common Ground Homeschooling Covenant:

“Common Ground Homeschoolers are a diverse group of homeschooling families dedicated to preserving a peaceful and accepting community in which to respectfully support and foster lifelong learning and friendship.”

ONLY KINDNESS Policy:

We believe in doing no harm and respecting others. We believe that all forms of interaction can be done nicely and in a respectful way regardless of the circumstances.

Allergy Policy

A:

CGH complies with a ban on specific allergens that are life-threatening to our members.   

The following allergens are forbidden from CGH group get-togethers, including cooperative classes:  

  • Peanuts 
  • Latex – including, but not limited to, balloons, latex-coated rubber balls, latex gloves 

CGH complies with a labeling requirement on specific allergens so that those with non-life-threatening allergies may avoid them. 

The following allergens must be labeled at CGH group get-togethers, including cooperative classes:  

  • Gluten 
  • Dairy 
  • Wheat 
  • Soy 
  • Sesame 
  • Almond 
  • Hazelnut 
  • Chestnut 
  • Avocado 
  • Banana 
  • Shrimp 

Additionally, for the sake of families dealing with allergies and asthma, we ask that members be proactive and refrain from using products associated with environmental sensitivities. These products can include, but are not limited to:  

  • cigarette smoke (though co-op is a non-smoking environment, please also take care to wear clothing that has not been exposed to cigarette smoke) 
  • undiluted and fragrant essential oils or perfumes 
  • strongly scented hair and body products 
  • scented cleaning products or air fresheners
