Catholic Schoolhouse

Welcome to Catholic Schoolhouse! Aside from being part of a Catholic centered community of homeschool families, there are many benefits of belonging to the Phoenix Arizona Chapter of Catholic Schoolhouse. By offering a coordinated Pre-Kindergarten through High School curriculum, we are promoting family cohesiveness. Your own “domestic church” curriculum.

We have a strong fine arts program- where your child is exposed to Art History, biographical information about the art masters, and classical art techniques. The hands-on Science program offers activities and experiments for the Grammar through Dialectic levels.

Scholars 7th – 12th enjoy the challenge of Socratic discussions, writing seminars, reviewing church documents and more.

Curriculum details at: Catholicschoolhouse.org

Our Phoenix Charter meets Mondays 8:00 Mass – 12:30 PM at Resurrection Parish, Tempe.

Holy Family

We are a group of Catholic homeschooling families who meet and work together (cooperatively) with common interests and goals at St. Clare of Assisi in Surprise. We meet roughly 3 weeks per month on Fridays August-May. We cover subject areas of science, history, art and Religion (RE and Sacrament Prep) all aligned in our Catholic faith. We meet 9AM-Noon and encourage families to attend daily mass at St. Clare prior to co-op.

Incorporated in our day are virtues in practice. Parents are a part of the day, as each of us shares the joy of leading our children in a group setting. This offers our homeschooled children the opportunity to celebrate and strengthen their faith joyfully with other children of the same faith, while learning some things that they may not have the opportunity at home to do, like working on a group project, etc. They do this group work while learning a little bit about science, history, and art, while also practicing virtues. Also RE provides the children the benefits and joy of studying and celebrating their faith with their peers.

Holy Family is designed to support children’s homeschool education primarily using:

We have a nursery for babies and toddlers to come and play. Parents are required to stay and participate for each session. We do require active SHHE membership and Safe Environment Training for all parents who attend. There is all a park day at Surprise Farms Park and Splash Pad directly following our sessions. For more information email Dave or Mary Oliver: [email protected](Revised 8/2021)

Traditional Co-Op

The Traditional Co-Op is the perfect way to enrich your home school and build friendships. We pray together and enjoy fellowship and support. There is plenty of classroom learning, Kid time and Mom time.

We meet at St. Andrews Catholic Church on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month (Sept. - Dec. and Feb. - May).

Grades 7th - 10th will participate in two classes... Earth Science Labs and Apologia World History.

Grades K-6th will participate in 4 classes including Public Speaking, Science experiments, P.E., and Choir with Sign Language. Students are often divided into older and younger kid groups and they change classrooms.

Pre-K siblings will learn and have fun doing pre-school activities and free play both indoor and outdoor. Babies and toddlers will enjoy a huge indoor and outdoor nursery.

Classes run from 9:30 am - 12 pm with outside play, picnic and fellowship ending around 1pm.

Other fun things we do include a meet and greet potluck to kick of the year, Mom's only white elephant gift exchange in December, we perform our Choir with Sign Language at the Birthday Party for Jesus talent show in December, we have our very own May Crowning and we have an Open House for our last meeting in May where we invite the Dads (or Moms), grandparents, friends, etc., that don't normally come, to come and see what we do. Students give their final speeches and perform their Spring semester choir with sign language, art work and pictures from the year are on display, we hand out awards and end with a reception.

This is a great group and we would love to have you join! Please register today!

This co-op needs a leader to continue!  If you are interested in leading, please contact Maria Herrera at [email protected].
