Q:

Where is LAF located/where does LAF meet?

A:

We meet at Grace Fellowship Church in Shrewsbury, PA. on Thursdays from mid-September through mid-May. The address is 74 E. Forrest Ave., Shrewsbury, PA 17361.

Q:

How much does LAF cost/what fees does LAF have?

A:

1. Enrollment fee - To register for classes each student must pay an enrollment fee. The cost for the first student is $35 with each additional student being an additional $15 (two students=$50, three students=$65, etc.). This fee is required two weeks after registering for classes.

2. Class fee - Each teacher is free to set whatever fee they believe is reasonable. Most teachers charge around $6.25-$7.25 per class per student (a 10 week session for one class would cost $62.50-$72.50). High school lab sciences are more since they cover 2 class periods. This fee is due one month prior to the beginning of each session.

3. Materials fee - Teachers can also choose to have a materials fee to cover photocopies, class supplies, etc. Class descriptions will indicate if there is a materials fee involved for a specific class. This is due one month prior to the beginning of the first session or at an earlier date as specified by the teacher.

4. Cleaning fee –The cleaning fee for 2017-2018 will be $35 to be paid in full by September 14th. This fee will be reimbursed to families which sign up and work a total of 6 slots total for the year (reimbursement will be given at the end of whatever session a family completes all 6 of their slots). Slots are limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.

Q:

Do I have to volunteer in order to participate?

A:

Parents can either choose to volunteer 6 times per year to help with set-up, lunch, sign in, or clean-up duties and receive their cleaning fee back. OR they may choose not to be refunded the cleaning fee of $35.

Q:

Is LAF a Christian co-op?

A:

We are a Christain-based co-op who welcomes homeschoolers and cyberschoolers from all walks of life. Our classes are taught from a Christian world view.

Q:

Is LAF a drop-off co-op?

A:

Yes, we are a drop-off co-op. If your student has back-to-back classes a parent does not need to remain. However, if your student has a period free between classes a parent or other responsible adult is required to be on site as we do not have study halls available. There is a waiting area for parents and siblings for this reason.

Q:

Is the LAF Co-op an outreach program for/part of Grace Fellowship Church?

A:

No. Although Grace Fellowship graciously hosts our co-op we are not officially affiliated with it.

Q:

Do I have to enroll my student in a certain number of classes/sessions?

A:

No. You can enroll your student in just one class or up to 6 (we have six class periods). You can sign up for just one or two sessions unless a class is listed as a year-long class.

Q:

Can cyberschool students enroll?

A:

Yes, we would love to have you join us.
