FAQs

Q:

What steps must I take to become a member and register my child(ren) for Axxess?

A:

Located at the top of the webpage, you will find a "Join" portal button.  Fill out the form. Once your request form is submitted, you will be notifed by an Axxess Committee member of your approval or denial. If approved, you then will be given access to our homeschool Axxess site, in which, you will create an account and register your student for the desired class(es). You will find the class descriptions under the "Class Registration" page, as well as, the sign-up portal.

Q:

How much is registration fees?

A:

The registration fee to be a member of Axxess is $50 per family, per year, which is added to your family balance when you join or by the admin just prior to registration for the subsequent years.

Q:

Are there any other fees associated?

A:

After the $50 registration fee, each class will have an independently associated fee.  The class fees range from $5-$50.

Q:

How do I pay?

A:

Once you have put ALL the classes for ALL your children into your cart, you will see a "balance" across the top of the page.  Click on that, and it will bring you to your family's accounting statement.   The options for payment are: checks or moneyorders written out for the full ballance to Brian Zwart or cash given directly to tutors and/or administration.  Mail to Calvary Bible Church,C/O of Axxess, 4617 Grand Haven Rd., Norton Shores, MI 49441. Checks should be made out to Brian Zwart.

Q:

When are fees due?

A:

Registration fees are paid annually and may be paid at the same time that you pay for your class fees.  April of each year will roll over the next year's $50 registration fee, but that does not need to be paid until you register for classes.  If you choose not to register for classes, the $50 fee will be wiped from your account balance in August.

Class fees are due on or before, August 29th, when registration closes.

Q:

What if I change my mind?

A:

To cancel a class: login, under classes click "archived or view all" (depending on the time of year), switch classroom view to parent (top right), manage class registration (top right), check cancel button, click cancel at bottom.

Whether you receive a credit will be determined by whether the tutor has already spent the money on the supplies.  The sooner you decide on a class the better chance you have.

The registration fee of $50 will be charged for any changes after Orientation Night in August.

Q:

What if we decide after starting the class that it is just not the right fit?

A:

Refunds for classes are completely dependant on whether a tutor can give the refund.  If supplies have been purchased, no refund can be given.  If a refund is an option for the tutor, you will only receive a refund within the first 2 weeks of the beginning semester.  Any dropped class after the first two weeks, will not be given a refund.

Q:

What if a class I want is full?

A:

I recommend that you put your name on the waiting list.  You will not be charged for that class until or if a position becomes available.  If you should desire, you may go ahead with registering for a different class that hour. That backup class can be dropped if a position for your first option waiting list becomes available.

Q:

Do we have to stay the entire time at the church? If not, is it possible to do our parent responsibility at drop off or pick up?

A:

No, staying on campus the full time that your student is attending classes is not required, however, you are welcome to do so. We are always in need of parents who can volunteer at least during the 4th hour period to be parent monitors over chore duties.  Please consider this option as viable to Axxess' day.  Parents are required, if possible, to be in attendance for the first two Fridays of Axxess to help establish their child(s) cleaning duty. This will help ensure that your child knows how to execute their chore to best of their ability.

Q:

What if the weather is bad?

A:

Because Axxess is located in the Mona Shores school district, our policy is as follows:  If Mona Shores cancels, we cancel.  If Mona Shores delay starts, we continue.  An email and FB notification will come out from Axxess at the earliest possible time.  If the area where you live is worse off than the area more central to Mona Shores, use your own judgment as to what would be best for your family.  If we do not have enough available tutors on a given day, Axxess may be canceled.
