What is PALS?
PALS is a parent-run, secular group of homeschoolers that holds two semesters of enrichment classes in the Regent Square area of Pittsburgh. Our classes are held from 10am-2:30pm on Wednesdays, February-May and September-December; our semesters are made up of 13 days: including 10 class days, an end of semester exhibit (Share Fair), and a party, a field trip, or a picnic.
Our program is 100% parent-run and intended as a supplement to your homeschool! Classes rotate every semester and are organized by parents based on the interests of the families in our community. Previous classes include: Stop Motion Video, Pokemon Club, Forensic Science, Darwin Book Club, Embroidery, Dinosaurs. Current and upcoming classes can be found here.
The Community Share Fee is $135 per family per semester; class fees generally range some $0-$20 per class. All fees must be paid on or before the first day of classes.
Please read through out FAQs to learn more about our program!
How do I join?
Our Fall 2026 waitlist is closed; we are now accepting families for our Spring 2027 waitlist.
If you're interested in joining PALS, please contact our New Family Liaison. You will need to provide number of children, their ages, and valid clearances for all attending adults to be put on our waitlist. The deadline is December 16.
For more information about obtaining clearances, see here.
Please be aware of the responsibility of volunteering as part of your commitment to join. Parents are required to complete jobs during class days. The number of jobs depends on how many class periods you are registered for; one job for each class period you are registered for, with a max of three jobs. These jobs include teacher, class assistant, Board member, substitute, and set up/clean up help. Families are also required to sign up for a community task, which includes all set up and clean up jobs during the day. This is a parent-led program and volunteering is required for PALS to function. For any questions about participation, you can email jobs@palsenrichment.org.
