CHESS Vision, Values, & Purpose
CHESS Vision:
Growing the kingdom of God through home education of the next generation.
CHESS Core Values:
1) CHRIST-CENTERED- "One Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all"--Ephesians 4:5&6
Open to all interested mid-Michigan home educators, C.H.E.S.S. specifically ministers to Christian home educating families willing to look beyond our many differences and focus instead on what we have in common: our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
2) COOPERATION- "serve one another in love." --Galatians 5:13
CHESS operates cooperatively as we all work together, allowing each of the home educating families in our midst to contribute their various skills, talents, insights, and experiences to the benefit of all involved.
3) COMMUNITY- "in Christ we who are many form one body" --Romans 12:5
An interdenominational ministry, CHESS seeks to help home educating families connect and build relationships, thereby bringing unity within the Body of Christ and creating a homeschooling community of Believers.
4) CONTINUATION- "One generation will commend Your works to another..." Psalm 145:4
CHESS desires to see our efforts in assisting Christian home educators have impact until Christ returns, as our children rise up and become the leaders of the next generation, living out their faith and passing along what they have learned-- even training our grandchildren through Christian home education.
CHESS Mission:
To provide support, encouragement, opportunities, and Christian community to homeschool families in the greater Lansing area in order to raise up the next generation to know, love and serve the Lord, Jesus Christ.
