CHRIST-CENTERED LEARNING

AT HEARTS, FAITH IS THE FOUNDATION.

AUTHENTIC CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY

MORE THAN JUST CLASSES, HEARTS FOSTERS RELATIONSHIPS ROOTED IN BIBLICAL TRUTH.

PREPARING THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS

STUDENTS LEARN TO LEAD WITH INTEGRITY.

COLLEGE AND CAREER PREP

HEARTS FOCUSES ON BOTH COLLEGE AND PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS.

Student Activities

HEARTS functions each year with its excellent volunteers, from the steering committee to the supervisor assistants; it is how we keep our registration fees to a minimum. If you pay $300 in registration fees, $240 of that is rent; which leaves just $60 for activities, administrative supplies and fees, insurance and paper products. We are confident you will be surprised at what our volunteer leadership and adult club leads are able to offer for just $60!!!

Like many homeschool co-op groups, HEARTS offers classes, fields trips and some wonderful activities. In addition to those common activities, we have had adult volunteers willing to lead additional events like our high school prom and graduation, as well as clubs like Spanish, Creative Writing, P.E., Debate and Yearbook. In fact, we have even been able to offer student leadership opportunities through Fellowship of Christian Athletes and HEARTS Student Council or Events Leaders.

Student Leadership Opportunities
Although one may expect student leadership groups at larger public and private schools, we have been blessed to be able to offer this at HEARTS as well. Our student led groups, like Fellowship of Christian Athletes and HEARTS Student Council, give students a platform to take the helm and use their skills to contribute to the overall student experience at HEARTS.

Unlike some larger schools, our volunteers, current student leadership and teachers have the unique opportunity to get to know all our students well and make recommendations based on their observations, interactions and conversations. The following are character traits we seek for leadership positions:
Kind, friendly, and approachable
Willing to pitch in and help (whether helping with a math problem in class or folding tables at the end of the day)
Demonstrate an ability to balance responsibilities with maturity and focus
Shows a respect for peers and teachers in the classroom
Maintains good grades and academic performance (80 or higher and turns assignments in on time)
Shows a positive influence on peers
Demonstrates a genuine appreciate for HEARTS
Participates in most events
Demonstration of intrinsic motivation and autonomy
Is an example student
Enrolled with HEARTS for at least one year

Recommended students are then asked if they have an interest in a position on student council or FCA and a discussion takes place to identify the opportunities available. The goal with leadership roles is to grow into higher positions so there is an overlap of knowledge and experience from year to year.

Student leadership focuses on the HEARTS mission:
"Our goal is to train the next generation of Christian leaders by equipping them with the skills needed to confidently serve their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, no matter the setting."

We want to provide an opportunity for fellowship and camaraderie but also skills to handle complex planning, event execution and peer relations. We want the student leadership members to speak of what "they did" versus what "they followed." We want student leaders to gain confidence in their ability to lead!
