1. Mission Statement and Verification you are able to participate in Veritas, Inc.

Veritas, Inc. is organized exclusively for religious, educational and charitable purposes under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The mission of Veritas, Inc. is to provide traditional Biblically-based support, information, and encouragement to those who choose to mentor their children and are providing parent-directed, home-based, privately-funded education to their children.

Veritas, Inc. is a homeschool support group who follows traditional Biblical principles to support Christian homeschool families. All our activities and teaching reflects these principles. We expect all participants to adhere to the Christian guidelines of conduct, attitude, and appearance at all functions and activities.

The qualifications for participation in this organization are:

Use a parent-directed, home-based, privately-funded homeschool curriculum. If you are using a government-funded virtual charter school such as Hoosier K12 or Indiana Connections Academy (both considered public school done at home not only by us but by the Dept. of Education) and are not traditionally homeschooling any of your children, then you are NOT eligible to join Veritas, Inc. If you are homeschooling some of your children and have others doing public school, a virtual charter school, or a private school, you are eligible to join the group but only the homeschooled children will be allowed to participate in field trips, parties, special events, co-op, etc.

You must maintain a permanent residency in Indiana.

You must complete and submit a Veritas, Inc. application each year. Yearly registration fees must be paid at that time.

Please prayerfully consider where you might be able to serve within the group during the coming year (i.e. serve on a committee, help set-up or clean-up at functions and activities provided, or help in other areas needed). Our group is only successful if everyone takes part in the events and lends a hand.

2. Acknowledgement of Participation Agreement

Veritas, Inc. reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation without explanation. The Veritas, Inc. Board reserves the right to remove a family or family member who violates the Veritas, Inc. Statement of Faith, Code of Conduct or any policy in the By-laws (either by word or deed). (This statement is found in the VERITAS, Inc. Bylaws, Section 2, Article 4). Bylaws are available in their entirety by request. I have read and acknowledge this Agreement.
3. Activity Release Statement for participation in Veritas, Inc.

The following Activities Release Statement shall be signed annually from each family who participates in activities sponsored and hosted by Veritas, Inc. Grandparents or other adult family members who might possibly attend an activity with you are under this same policy.

I understand that by signing this Activities Release Statement, I hereby release and discharge the Veritas, Inc. Board members and any other participants of the group (“Released Parties”) from all claims which my child or I might have for any injury or harm to my child or myself, even if such injury or harm is caused by any of the “Released Parties”. Please sign below if you have read and agree to abide by the Activities Release Statement. I have read and acknowledge the Activity Release.
4. Photo Release Policy for Veritas, Inc.

“I grant to Veritas, Inc. the right to take all photographs, voice recordings, and or video that you have, for any purpose whatsoever, including, but not limited to, promotion of the group and its activities in connection with any Veritas, Inc. function, public or private. I authorize Veritas, Inc. to copyright, use, and publish the same in print or electronically. I agree that Veritas, Inc. may use such photographs for any lawful purposes, including for example, publication in our yearbook, newspaper, or social media.” I have read and agree to the Photo Release.

5. Statement of Faith for Veritas, Inc.

God: God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. (Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humanity by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5 & 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; I Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13)

The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ and to lead us to Him. When we believe in Jesus as our Savior, the Spirit empowers us with spiritual gifts. His ongoing work is to guide, instruct, and empower us for a life of Godly living and service. As Christians, we should strive to live under His control daily. (II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13 & 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12 & 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18)

The Bible: The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the final source of truth for how we believe we should live. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error in all that it intends to teach us about Him. (II Timothy 113, 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119: 105,160 & 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)

Humanity: We believe that people were created in the image of God for a loving relationship with Him. Although we have the potential for tremendous good, we are born with an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates us from God as we actively or passively choose to go our own way. However, we can experience true relationship once again through faith in Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 5:1-2)

Traditional Marriage: We believe that God created mankind and that He created them male and female. As such, He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Romans 1: 18-32; I Corinthians 6:9-11; I Corinthians 6: 18-20; I Corinthians 7:1-3; I Timothy 1:9-11)

We believe Christians are to live a set-apart life of integrity with moral and sexual purity based on God’s Word. (Leviticus 11:44a; Ephesians 5:3-7; I Corinthians 6:9-11; I Corinthians 6:18; I Timothy 1:9-11; I Timothy 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:22; I Peter 1:16; I Peter 2:9)

Salvation: Salvation is a gift from God to us. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. It is only by repenting and trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness for the sins we commit against the Holy God, as referred to in the Holy Bible that we can be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment a person receives Jesus Christ into their heart by faith. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6 & 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1)

Humanity was created to live forever, and we will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in heaven with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally with God is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. (John 3:16; I John 2:25 & 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15)

I acknowledge the statement of faith held by Veritas, Inc. and understand the statements to be the foundation of the ministry conducted by Veritas, Inc. I agree with the above statement and will honor it as I seek to follow Christ. I have read and agree to the Statement of Faith.
6. As Veritas, Inc. is an active group that gives children and their families the opportunity for social interaction with one another and with our community, it is important that we all understand what is expected of us. Because of its stand upon Biblical principles and our desire to be a light for Christ wherever we are, the Veritas group expects participating families to uphold basic Christian guidelines to the best of their ability.

The family is a God-established institution. Within the family the Lord has given full authority to the parents. Children are expected to be obedient and respectful to their parents. (Ephesians 6:1-3). Parents, when necessary, are to implement proper discipline when the behavior or attitudes of their children require it. (Proverbs 13:24) Participants are expected to relate to others, while attending Veritas activities and functions, with an attitude of respect and kindness. (Philippians 2:3-4)

Participants of the Veritas group are expected to dress with a sense of modesty and innocence while attending Veritas activities and functions. (1 Timothy 2:9)

Participants are expected to maintain speech that is respectful and honoring of one another and the Lord while participating in Veritas activities and functions. (Ephesians 5:4)

Children of participants are expected to maintain a level of respect for authority, other than parents, when in the charge of participants. This would apply during co-op, field trips, special events, and other activities. (1 Peter 5:5)

In accordance with these guidelines, parents agree to accept financial responsibility for any damages incurred by action or negligence of their students while engaged in VERITAS activities.

I have read the Statement of Conduct and will abide by it in any affiliation that I have with Veritas Homeschool Association. I have read and agree to the above Statement.
7. Liability Release Statement for participation in Veritas, Inc.

I understand that by my participation in the group activities of VERITAS Homeschool Association, I am accepting the risks inherent in such events, including exposure to contagious illnesses (such as Coronavirus and seasonal flu). By signing this Liability Release Statement, I hereby release and discharge the Veritas, Inc. Board members and any other participants of the group (“Released Parties”) from all claims which my child or I might have for any injury or harm to my child or myself, even if such injury or harm is caused by any of the “Released Parties”. Please sign below if you have read and agree to abide by the Liability Release Statement. I have read and acknowledge the Liability Release.
