Statement of Faith

HeartWay Homeschool Group is a Christ-centered homeschool community committed to honoring Jesus Christ 

and approaching education, fellowship, and service from a Biblical worldview.

Our Statement of Faith
We believe:
• The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21)
• God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. (Genesis 1; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:3)
• Jesus is both Lord and Christ, to the glory of God the Father. (Acts 1:9–11; Acts 2:36; Philippians 2:9–11)
• We believe that whosoever will confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart God raised Him from the dead, shall be saved. (Romans 10:9–10; Acts 2:21; John 1:12)
• The Holy Spirit is sent by Jesus to indwell, empower, teach, guide, and comfort believers. (Luke 12:12; Romans 8:11; John 16:13; Acts 1:7–8; Acts 9:31)
• We believe that the Lord Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection from the dead provided for the healing of the body, soul, and spirit for all who believe. Scripture demonstrates Christ’s ministry to the body (Luke 17:12–16), soul—mind, will, and emotions—(Mark 5:15), and spirit (Luke 4:18). The Greek word sozo, most often translated “saved,” also carries the meanings “I save, heal, preserve, rescue.”
• We believe in the return of Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:9–11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–5:2; Revelation 19:11–21; Revelation 22:20)
 

Statement on Gender, Marriage, and Sexuality
In order to preserve the function and integrity of HeartWay Homeschool Group and to provide a Biblical role model to our families and the community, it is imperative that all participating families agree to and abide by the following Statement on Biological Sex, Marriage, and Sexuality. (Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:14–16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22)
God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary sexes each reflect the image and likeness of God.
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.’” (Genesis 1:26–28)
Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. A woman is an adult biological female human. A man is an adult biological male human. The Bible is our standard, and there are no instances of gender fluidity—changing from one sex to another. Male and female are equally valuable and complementary, each displaying aspects of God as their differences work together. Redefining or not accepting one’s biological sex goes against God’s will and design.
The term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one biological man and one biological woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Genesis 2:18–25)
God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a biological man and a biological woman who are married to each other. (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2–5; Hebrews 13:4)
 

Our Biblical Foundation
HeartWay Homeschool Group has a Christian emphasis, as evidenced by our Statement of Faith.
HeartWay is not a school. It exists as a homeschool organization in which families come together for educational opportunities, fellowship, encouragement, and support while parents retain responsibility for the education of their children.
When participating in HeartWay, all activities and meetings will be conducted with a New Testament Christian emphasis. All classes will be taught from a Biblical worldview.
Science will be taught from a Biblical creationist worldview.
History and literature may include discussion of differing ideas, cultures, events, and perspectives; however, teachers will approach classroom instruction and discussion from a Biblical perspective.
All other classes and activities will be conducted in a manner consistent with HeartWay’s Statement of Faith and Christian foundation.

I have read the Statement of Faith, and my family is in agreement with the Statement of Faith and the Biblical principles outlined in this document.
