Hi, and a very warm greeting Thrive families!!  I'm Vanessa Petties-Ackermann, and I am thrilled to serve as an ASL teacher. I am deaf and fluent in ASL I have been a Deaf mentor teaching hearing families with Deaf children ASL for a couple of years. I enjoyed teaching ASL to my children, families, peers, friends, and neighbors.

It will be my first time teaching ASL in a classroom, and I look forward to learning how to develop classes for the homeschool community. I believe that anyone can learn ASL. It is a privilege to teach a beautiful language, and it is a beautiful expression as well.

I love to spend time with my family of seven. I also enjoy hiking and love to travel.
