Katie Crecion To All Instructors

Hello Parents,

My name is Katie Crecion, and I am absolutely thrilled to be the new second grade teacher at Thrive.  I am so excited to begin this journey with you and your student, and I feel truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of their learning and growth. I have nearly twelve years of experience teaching in early childhood education, including Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade. 

Working with children is truly my passion, and I love creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, curious, and excited to learn. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Development from Vanderbilt University, as well as a Master’s degree in Education from New York University. My teaching philosophy centers on the holistic development of the child, nurturing mind, heart, and spirit through Christ-centered teaching.

Our Second grade curriculum is designed to build strong academic foundations while honoring how young children learn best. This is the year for learning and discovery! We will focus on building strong reading and writing skills, developing math understanding, and encouraging curiosity! 

Communication is extremely important to me, and I believe that a strong partnership between teacher and parents helps children succeed. I will send out a weekly email with updates, important information, and classroom highlights. I encourage you to reach out anytime with questions, concerns, or insights about your child. 

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Adam, for 21 years. We are the proud parents of three children: Kayla (19), James (15), and Peter (13), and our sweet fur baby Cooper. 

I am so grateful to be back at Thrive and to be part of such a loving, Christ-centered community. Thank you for entrusting me with your child’s growth and learning. I look forward to a blessed year ahead.
