Billy Wickens To All Instructors

Hi thrive families! I am Billy Wickens the new wood shop teacher. My family and I are so excited to be a part of this community. Thank you for trusting me to teach your children the amazing skill of wood working. We will learn the basics of safety, design, sanding, screwing and stain. I want each child to have their own eye on the product we will make. 

I started building alongside my dad when I was five. I always had a knack for wood working and that served me well when the pandemic hit and I had to make my own way. I started building garden boxes and fences then surf sheds and decks, now studios and home remodels and business hasn't slowed down! With a business degree and ten years of owning a retail store, I combined my knowledge and physical abilities to create my own craftsman business (find me on Instagram @billybuildsstudio) 

My wife was homeschooled until high school and absolutely loved it so homeschooling our three children was an easy decision. We love to go to the beach and camp in our van and spend time with friends and family!
