Thrive parents, I am delighted to once again bring my mobile woodworking classroom (converted transit bus) to you. My goal is to teach as many kids here as possible how to swing a hammer, saw a board clamped into a miter box, drill holes and drive nails to build desktop toys and ultra useful projects with basic hand tools.

I began teaching in1974 and while I can't remember all the places I've taught, one of my favorite "jobs" was the 18 years of summer camps I conducted at the Y.M.C.A.'s of San Diego (1997-2015) which I called "Build it." Another favorite "job" was bringing miter box sawing and projects it to Francis Parker Elementary School for a few years in the early 1990's.

I have been blessed with many awesome "jobs" over the decades; speaking at various seminars, enjoying newspaper and television coverage, getting an A.S. in Child Development and writing a book on my program "I Can Build it Myself" (out of print). All this and more making for a very busy life while raising two children after my husband passed away. I have a tiny house in the Clairemont area of San Diego just right for me and I am blessed with a 90 foot driveway long enough for my bus and room for a "camp" area for my summer work with kids.

Looking ahead, I would be so pleased for a chance to teach your 2nd - 5th grader safe and effective hand tool techniques in my woodshop bus classroom. They will learn relevent and practical skills for a lifetime.
