Cooperative Learning Day
The CHE Cooperative Learning Day started over 25 years ago by a group of pioneering homeschool families here in Northeast Arkansas. Co-op, as we now call it, is an opportunity for home educated students to gather together and participate in activities that are not readily available at home. Classes meet at a local church facility in Jonesboro on scheduled Mondays. These classes are not meant to replace the time and curriculum provided by the parent; it is simply an additional offering by CHE to enhance and support the efforts of homeschooling families that qualify for membership. While Co-op Day classes vary from one semester to another, a typical slate of classes will usually include drama, history, science, art, music, and PE.
Our current format offers two semesters each year, with each semester lasting 10 - 12 weeks. We meet for three hours which includes three separate class times, plus a snack time after the second class.
Participation in Co-op Day is strictly conditional upon acceptance into CHE as well as other requirements set forth by the Co-Op committee.
