Thank you for your interest in Calvary Christian Homeschool! We are a Christian co-op that meets twice a month (1st and 3rd Thursday of the month during the school year), with a focus on electives that tie into the doctrine of the Bible. Our co-op meets from 10am-12pm with lunch after as well as science presentations throughout the year during regular co-op time. We also have one field trip per month on the 2nd Thursday of the month and hiking days on the 4th Thursday of the month. We also incorporated for the first time last year a Career Day for our kids to see the exciting careers that await them when they graduate, and this year we are doing a Homeschool Entrepreneur Market where the kids can showcase and sell their homemade products and services, and adults and kids alike can purchase some awesome gifts for family.
A typical co-op starts with pledge of allegiance, pledge to the Bible, Worship and announcements. This is followed by classroom time split up by age groups (0-3 year olds, 4-5 year olds, 6-7 year olds, 8-9 year olds, 10-12 year olds and 13+ year olds) where they will learn the elective that is majority-chosen before the year begins (this year we are learning about the Life Skills) with a focus on how the elective ties into our Biblical Doctrine. After class, we enjoy a time of fellowship and lunch. You can choose to purchase lunch ahead of time, bring your own packed lunch, or join some parents as they choose to fellowship at a park playdate after co-op to allow the kids to run around. Whatever you choose, you are welcome, and we are excited to have you as a part of the co-op!
We charge per semester, with our First Semester being $24 per child (6 class meeting times) and $36 per child for our second semester (9 class meeting times). We also have a one-time per year per family registration fee of $10 that goes directly to our website for hosting us.
Our co-op is full of fellowship opportunities for both the kids and the parents as well as a ton of learning. Parent participation/volunteering is mandatory. Please reach out to Carla or Ashley to see where help is needed. We could not carry out this co-op without the help of every person that attends, so we welcome you to be a part of this journey with your children and help keep it running as the Lord is leading.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to homeschool@calvarychapelreno.org with any questions you may have!
2 Timothy 3:15 AMP: "and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings (Hebrew Scriptures) which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus [surrendering your entire self to Him and having absolute confidence in His wisdom, power and goodness]."
