2024-2025 Enrollment

Welcome to Upright Homeschool Academy!  We are so thrilled that you've decided to partner with us to create a beautiful, strong and academically rich program for our children.  Please read through the following information, as your enrollment will serve as your agreement to our policies and principles.

For the 2024-2025 school year, Upright will offer a full core curriculum for PreK 4 to 8th grade.  Parents are responsible for providing the required curriculum for the duration of the year.  All students attend Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM.  We do not offer before or after care.  We expect children to be picked up promptly at 1:30 PM.  If a parent is leaving campus, children may not be dropped off prior to 8:50 AM.  Our academic year is roughly 33 weeks, divided into 4 quarters.  Holiday breaks include Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas/ New Years and Spring Break.

Christian World-View

Upright is a faith- based, non-denominational Christian program. Registering your child demonstrates your understanding and are in agreement that the curriculum is written with a Biblical worldview and a non-denominational approach.  We agree to defer to parents as the primary educator and authority of their own children and will attempt to direct any specific denominational questions back to the family.  However, children will be exposed to prayer, scripture recitation and basic Biblical principles, along with a curriculum that supports high moral character.

Behavior and Morality

We support and celebrate the unique nature and personality of each child and cannot tolerate demeaning language directed towards a child or volunteer.  If a child demonstrates concerning behavior or doesn't function well in a group setting, we may ask the parent to accompany the child throughout the day for a specified amount of time.  Behavioral concerns that may require intervention include, but are not limited to the following:  the use of profanity, aggressive behavior towards students or volunteers, excessive classroom disruptions, excessive rough play, hitting, biting or kicking, causing intentional or unintentional property damage, making perceived threats through words or drawings, repeated or targeted insults, leaving an assigned group or area without permission and misuse of any furniture or equipment in the church. Behavioral interventions may include:  discussion and redirection, being accompanied by a parent, being picked up early, daily or weekly suspension and removal from the program.  We reserve the right to remove a child at our discretion, at any time, without explanation.

We agree as a community to be a place of nurturing support and love, while also helping children to develop good habits and virtues.  We agree to treat each other with kindness and temper disagreements with grace.  As a loving community and model to our children, we agree to refrain from gossip and hurtful behavior.  This includes sharing personal or sensitive information about a child with other parents.  Any concerns should be brought to the child's parent, their primary tutor and the Upright director.

Financial Commitment

Furthur, by registering you agree to make a financial commitment for the 2024-2025 school year.  This includes the annual registration fee of $200 per family with 1-3 children and $250 per family with 4+ children, which half is due at time of approved registration, with the remainder due July 1st, required school supplies, community supply fees and monthly tuition.  Tuition is $495 per student, payable as $55 per month from September 2024-May 2025. We cannot offer a discounted rate due to absences or an act of God, such as adverse weather that may force us to cancel a class day.  For weather-related closures, we will follow the decision of Medina Valley ISD.

All financial decisions are based on the expectation that the full tuition amount is received for each student.  If you wish to remove your student before the end of the school year, 30 days notice is required so that a waiting list family can take your place.  If your student is removed after the 3rd quarter, they will not be replaced and therefore, monthly tuition will continue to be collected through May 2025.

A community supply fee of $20 per family, will be collected each semester to cover campus supplies such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels, trash bags, etc.  This fee will be added to your monthly invoice in October and February.

Tuition is due on the 1st of each month via an emailed invoice, without demand.  If a student's tuition payment becomes more than 15 days past due, that student will be removed from the program until tuition is current.  All registration, deposits, tuition and supply fees are non-refundable.

Parents also agree to serve a minimum of 90 hours per year per family with 1-3 children and 108 hours per year per family with 4+ children (hours will be divided quarterly). Tutor assignments will be based on our needs and with heavy consideration given to a tutor's preferred grade level, subject, schedule and availability.

Volunteer Opt-Out:  For families that cannot meet the volunteer requirement they can pay-out volunteer hours @ $12 per hour.  Payable with tuition at the 1st of every month. This is per family.

For example:

90 hrs @ $12/hr = $1,080 ($120 per month added to monthly tuition)

108 hrs @ $12/hr = $1,296 ($144 per month added to monthly tuition)

Age and Grade Level

If you are new to our program, using the placement tests listed below is required to place your child accordingly.  Please place your child in the grade level that you feel is appropriate based on their placement test and ability.  The grade level that you indicate will be their primary grade, regardless if they move between grade levels for a specific subject.  Toddler care is available for 1-3 yr olds, only while their parent serves on campus. Infants must accompany the parent while volunteering. There is no drop-off option or tuition fee for toddlers or infants.   A child who turns 4 by September 1st, should be enrolled in PreK 4 and may not be eligible for toddler care. Tuition applies to all students beginning with PreK 4.
