I am a stay at home mom of four children ranging from 17 to 1 year old. I have been homeschooling for about a decade now. We moved her to Arkansas in March of 2023, because my husband is in the Air Force. I have my Bachelors in Psychology, and am currently working on my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I hope to help the kiddos in co-op grow and learn through doing and creating!

Karyn Dancy

Mom to many, but only birthed 2 of them that are now 13 and 26.  Homeschooling Gabriel for 7 years so far.  Credentialled teacher, but it's totally different teaching in a classroom than homeschooling.  Majored in Spanish and love learning about other cultures and the diversity of God's creation.  Native of California, but has lived in Colorado, Minnesota, and Rhode Island, too, but Rhode Island doesn't count because she was just a baby.  Has a goal of getting her picture on the steps of every capital and has 13 so far.  Has visited 33 states.

I have 25+ years of experience in public, private, and homeschooling environments with students ranging from preschool through college. I hold a Master’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics, as well as state certification in Secondary Mathematics.

I also have experience in Special Education, including extensive work with students on the autism spectrum. In addition to my professional experience, I’ve homeschooled my five children from kindergarten. My oldest graduated from college in 2020, my next two graduated from high school through homeschooling, and my youngest two are now in 9th and 12th grades.

I have homeschooled for 14 years. I love teaching so much, I was "student teaching" away from a double bachelor's in k-12 special education and k-6 education. However, in 2020 I had to drop out of college to take care of my youngest child who required round the clock care. It was meant to be, because after having worked as a sub, and then seeing how education changed during/after Covid, I have decided there is no way I would teach in a public school in today's world. With most schooling done through technology, all children expected to learn and do the same way/things, I realized that's not something I want to be a part of. I believe children should be able to learn at their pace, in the ways that work for them. The majority of the teaching I enjoy and see best results are through hands on learning. Currently, I teach PreK at Church and will soon be working with Elementary on Wednesday nights. I truly love teaching and watching children flourish through activities and gentle guidance.
