Catherine Reaper To All Instructors

I have homeschooled for 14 years. I love teaching so much, I was "student teaching" away from a double bachelor's in k-12 special education and k-6 education. However, in 2020 I had to drop out of college to take care of my youngest child who required round the clock care. It was meant to be, because after having worked as a sub, and then seeing how education changed during/after Covid, I have decided there is no way I would teach in a public school in today's world. With most schooling done through technology, all children expected to learn and do the same way/things, I realized that's not something I want to be a part of. I believe children should be able to learn at their pace, in the ways that work for them. The majority of the teaching I enjoy and see best results are through hands on learning. Currently, I teach PreK at Church and will soon be working with Elementary on Wednesday nights. I truly love teaching and watching children flourish through activities and gentle guidance.
