Code of Conduct:
In order to assure that Rise Up Homeschool Organization is a positive experience for everyone involved, we will adhere to the following Code of Conduct. Every adult is expected to intervene in a loving, but firm manner if disruptive or disrespectful behavior is observed. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their own children understand the rules outlined below. It is understood that if anyone in your family violates the rules, it will jeopardize your participation in the group. The Rise Up Board of Directors reserves the right to deny or revoke participation to any student or family.
Please take the time to read and discuss this with your children.
Let us be a testimony in our words and actions to our organization members as well as to the rental facility and the community as a whole.
ZERO TOLERANCE BEHAVIORS FOR ALL MEMBERS OF RISE UP:

Intentional damage to property

Physically disrespecting another person’s body (fighting, sexual misconduct, etc.)

Stealing
-
Possession of pornographic or other inappropriate materials
-
Smoking/Drugs/Alcohol use
-
Possession of weapons
-
Violence that is threatening to anyone at Rise Up
Violation of any of the aforementioned behaviors may result in immediate removal from the Rise Up organization and NO fees will be refunded (including registration, class fees, and supply fees).
1. We will abide by Biblical Christian standards of expectation in our speech and in our actions – showing kindness, responsibility, and honesty toward adults and fellow students. We will be attentive and cooperative with instructors, helpers, and fellow students at all times. We will refrain from disruptive and distracting behavior during class.
2. Swearing or cursing will not be tolerated.
3. We will be Godly role models to younger children and to each other. We will watch out for and take care of younger students and children in our proximity – being thoughtful of their safety.
4. Weapons of any kind (including, but not limited to guns, knives, pocket knives, or lasers) are not allowed on site at any time. Any of these items found in the possession of a student will be confiscated, and a conference will be called with a director, the student, a parent, and the reporting adult (if necessary). Offenses may result in suspension or removal from Rise Up.
5. Stealing and cheating will not be tolerated.
6. Skateboards or similar recreational toys are not allowed on church property.
7. Illegal drugs, tobacco, alcohol, or drug paraphernalia are not allowed on church property at any time, including in vehicles.
8. No food or drink (except water) is allowed anywhere except in the designated lunch areas. No food or drink (except water) in the classrooms, with the exception of preschool/kindergarten classes.
9. Inappropriate touch is not allowed at any time. The Rise Up Board has full authority to determine what defines inappropriate touch.
10. Students will only use restrooms of their biological sex.
11. Gambling, with or without the use of money, is not allowed on the premises.
12. Pick up after yourself at lunch and throughout the day.
13. Be respectful of our church building. No screaming or running around in the church building, on the landscaping, or in the parking lot. No climbing trees on the premises or going onto the Columbus School property.
14. Remain in Rise Up authorized spaces in the church. Absolutely no roaming around the church building or entering undesignated areas or rooms; these areas will be clearly marked.
15. No playing in the church parking lot around the cars. Designated areas will be marked for student-active spaces.
16. Other distracting/disruptive behavior will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
17. This Code of Conduct will be adhered to during all Rise Up activities including field trips and special events.
As parents and adults, it is our privilege and responsibility to encourage and equip our children for success both in the classroom and in group activities. Let us pursue an attitude of grace with one another and use discretion with our spoken words and our deeds in our interactions with all members of our organization.
