Members' Responsibilities:
At Rise Up, we believe that after God, parents are the utmost authority in the life of a child. Rise Up exists to provide support and resources for families in our community, but the ultimate authority resides with the parents. Rise Up is not meant to be a substitute or babysitter for the committed and intentional upbringing, education, or parenting of children.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Parents are responsible for the behavior and safety of their children, this includes all parking lots and playground activities. Neither Rise Up nor Crossroads Covenant Church, will be liable if students leave the church premises without their parent or legal guardian or if any injury arises while on the premises.
Parents must show a genuine interest in their children through active participation in Rise Up activities. It is only through a group effort that we can usher our students through a successful school year, preparing them to be productive members of first, the Kingdom of Heaven, and second, our world.
Active Participation looks like but is not limited to:
- making sure children are in their registered classes at the appropriate times
- knowing the mode of transportation their child(ren) chooses to take - Rise Up assumes no liability on how, when, or with whom students arrive or leave the premises, or where they are going once they leave the premises
- working with instructors/administrators in areas of academics and behavioral management
- overseeing the completion of homework
- ensuring students are prepared for classes with completed homework and all needed supplies
- fulfilling volunteer requirements
- helping to keep buildings and grounds orderly
