How intensive is WCHE? |
A: |
Wildcat Christian Home Educators is not a replacement for your homeschool. We meet 16 times, offering only 48 hours of in class group instruction for the year. You will still be the main provider of your child's education. What we offer is an opportunity to enhance your homeschool with an encouraging, Christ centered community. Because our meetings are limited, the time that the students spend outside of our meetings is crucial for making the most out of their co-op experience. This is especially true for jr.high and sr. high students. Our teachers provide a structure that maximizes our time spent together and offers guidance on how to spend the time apart between meetings. We feel that this allows the parents to maintain full control of their child's education while still offering them the opportunity to learn with peers and from others. |

At what age can my child join Wildcat Christian Home Educators? |
A: |
We begin accepting students once they enter 2nd grade. You will see that we offer classes younger than that age group. However, the 1st grade and younger age groups are only made available for younger siblings who must tag along with their older siblings so that moms can freely come and participate in co-op and not have to leave anyone at home. We do this so that we can keep those class sizes smaller and offer more attention and engagement to those children. If you do register your child for that age group without an older sibling in grades 2-12 you will receive an automatic message letting you know that your registration is being denied, but that we would be happy to have you register again in the future. |
