One of the goals of WCHE is to assist homeschool families in training their children; both academically and in character. Our children must learn to do their work in a timely manner, with diligence and integrity and to be accountable to authorities in their lives. In addition to providing students practice and opportunities to develop skills useful throughout their lives, it also provides an opportunity to develop and practice important organizational skills, study habits, and to take on responsibilites of their own. Our instructors are very busy people and have other responsibilities outside of co-op sessions. We greatly appreciate their ministry to our co-op familes, and we do not want to misuse their time. Instructors choosing to implement the homework policy will notify their students and parents of that decision at the BEGINNING of the semester. This is not an expectation for grades K-3.
Steps taken if homework is not completed or child is misbehaving on a regular basis disrupting class:
1). Teacher speaks with the student
2) An email is sent to the parents
3) Teacher speaks to the parents (either at co-op or on the telephone)
4) Teachers approach all board members and discusses problem.
I have read the above policy and agree to follow it
