You must be a part of a homeschool association to participate in Bridge Builders.

This is not a drop off program. Parents are to remain on site the entirety of the day and every parent participates in some aspect.

Our homeschool Co-Op meets on Fridays at 9:40AM-12:45PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church (230 Alice Dr. Sumter, SC 29150). WE ARE NUT FREE. We have a fridge and microwaves available to store your sack lunches.

Our goal is to maintain a homeschool community for our children to have social and educational growth. We meet in large and small groups. We enjoy learning, community projects, outside time, and local field trips. We currently only accept students in kindergarten-9th grade and you must be a part of a homeschool association to join. Pre-k classes are available for the younger siblings of our older students as needed.

This year our focus is Youth Empowerment with learning through living enrichment days. Your child/ren will be learning essential living skills such as garden to kitchen skills, sewing, manners and etiquette, and basic living skills. These skills work together to benefit and improve communication, public speaking, and other essential building blocks needed to establish and maintain life readiness within children of all ages.

Our organization relies on the attendance and participation of our students and their parents. Please only register for Bridge Builders if you are able and willing to attend our club days, January-May If you have additional questions or you are not ready to sign-up yet, please contact Kayla McLeod (803-840-8171) for more information.

Please include all children that will be in attendance from newborn-9th grade.

1. Parent Volunteer Selection

Please select which group you would like to work with. We try to accommodate everyone's selections but first choice selections are not guaranteed.

We strive to build community and family at Bridge Builders; not just for our children, but for our parents as well. We have one lead instructor and multiple assistants for each group to provide one on one help for our students. This structure of classes helps us achieve these values.

2. Homeschool Association 3. Dues and Fees:

Family registration fee: $25 for new families/ $10 for returning  Registration Fees are non-refundable!

*when registering, please do so with the intent of attending January-May.

Co-op Dues: Semester Dues of $100 due no later than January 12th.

*A $10 late fee will be added to dues not paid by January 13th.

4. Attendance: CO-OP IS A COMMITMENT

Attendance is imperative for our co-op to run smoothly and effectively. Please arrive ON TIME, at 9:45am, for our morning announcements, followed by dismissal to classes at 10 am. Every parent plays a huge role in our co-op and we are depending on you. Please keep this in mind when scheduling appointments etc. Parental commitment is required for membership to Bridge Builders, once a week from September through May. Although we strive to assign jobs per your request, we may need to assign jobs based on the needs of Bridge Builders.

1. If you are running late please notify Anna immediately. If you will be absent please notify Anna in advance.

2. 3 unexcused absences in one semester will result in removal from the roster.

Unexcused absences are any absences for something other than illness or emergency. 3. Illness and unforeseen emergencies may arise. Please let us know as soon as possible if something does occur

4. If you are a lead teacher and will be missing a day, please contact Anna.

5. Dropping your children off is not acceptable, legal parents/guardians must remain with their children for the entirety of the day. Sending your child with another family is not permitted unless priorly approved in advance.

6. Parents must stay the entirety of the day (announcements-recess), unless otherwise approved by Kayla or if an emergency should arise. Early departure from a co-op day, unexcused, will be counted as an unexcused absence.

7. Failure for any member to not show without calling ahead of time more than 2 times will result in a review of your membership and may result in termination of said membership.   (1 required) I HAVE READ THE ATTENDANCE POLICY
5. Illness Policy

We would all love to stay healthy and safe.

We ask that you call-in sick for the following reasons:

• Your child is in active pain to the point they are unable to participate.

• Fever within the past 48 hours of 101 degrees or higher.

• Vomiting, uncontrolled cough or sneezing/nasal fluids, diarrhea within the last 48 hours.

• If anyone IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD has had a stomach bug in the past 72 hours.

• If anyone IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD has been covid, flu, or strep positive within the past 7 days. (1 required) I HAVE READ THE ILLNESS POLICY
6. Cleaning

***It is your responsibility to clean up after your children at lunch.

***Parents are responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of their designated areas.

***At the end of the co-op day, each teacher and the parents in their assigned rooms are required to clean that room according to the methods and standards set by our host church. Students may be encouraged to help with the clean-up.

***Family cleaning assignments will rotate monthly. If your family will be unable to attend a co-op day it is your responsibility to have another family cover you designated area. (1 required) I HAVE READ THE CLEANING/CARE POLICY
7. Membership Agreement

1. Parents will be contacted if disciplinary problems arise. If there is an issue with a child, teachers are to first speak privately with the child first. The next step is to contact the parent. If the problem persists and cannot be corrected satisfactorily, notify Kayla.

2. We strive for no gossip, language or conversation that is not edifying to God. Do not speak ill of or put down other members or children. Parents and students are asked to speak and act in ways that are edifying to God and that promote unity and encouragement among Bridge Builders members. “Sowing discord” {Proverbs 16:16-19}, foul language, crude/vulgar language will absolutely not be tolerated. If you have a complaint or conflict, please address it directly.

3. Primary communication will be via our members page on our website. www.homeschool-life.com/SC/bridgebuilders

Please check the website frequently for news and updates. It is YOUR responsibility to know what is going on.

4. We ask that all parents actively keep a lookout for children who are running, rough-housing, or being disrespectful to church property.

5. All parents are responsible to enforce the Student Responsibility and Expectations Policy. Parental assistance is mandatory and necessary.

6. Bridge Builders reserves the right to terminate membership of any member when deemed necessary.

7.Members of Bridge Builders may use various media to record our classes and events and to recognize families and their participation and accomplishments, as well be posted in the FB group or yearbook, etc.

By becoming a member of Bridge Builders, you are granting us permission to use you/your child’s image/likeness and voice in different forms of print, digital or electronic media. This includes but is not limited to public display of flyers, special events, advertisement, internet or print. We cannot be held responsible for what other co-op members may do with their own photos/videos that they have captured.

Bridge Builders Co-op nor Host Church will not be held responsible for any injuries on premises during meetings/events.

Bridge Builders Co-op nor Host Church will not be held responsible for items left or damaged during meetings/events.

Please know that the Membership Guidelines and Policies was put together for the benefit and safety of you, your child(ren), our co-op, and our host church.

Payment Instructions

As a blessing at Christmas time we are offering reduced registration fees for all new families!!!!! We are so blessed and just want to pass the blessing along. May you and your family enjoy Christmas and may your remember the true meaning of it.

There is a NON-REFUNDABLE $25 registration fee due for new families upon registration. $10 Registration fee due for Returning Members will be added to dues. The semester payment of $100 per family is due by January 12th. Paid via Paypal. Some classes may have an additional fee that will not exceed $10, but this is rare. No dues will be collected for summer, but we may still gather for the occasional field trip. Please allow us 3-4 business days to review your submission. Submitting this form DOES NOT guarantee acceptance into Bridge Builders!
