Palmetto Teen Group
The Palmetto Teen Group is a Christian, parent-led volunteer organization that exists to provide a framework through which parent volunteers offer service, education and social opportunities for middle and high school homeschooled students in York and surrounding counties including Mecklenburg.
Steel Creek Christian Bible School
Through a variety of activities such as Bible teaching, Scripture memory work, craft, music, and games, we seek to provide a nurturing environment where children can learn about Jesus' wonderful love for them. We come alongside parents as they teach and train their children to live out God’s truths in their lives. School Age Students study age-appropriate editions of the same books the adults study. Preschool students learn three years worth of bible stories with crafts, music and games. Nursery care is provided for our youngest members.
Toddler time at a local library
Twenty-minute programs including picture book sharing, finger plays and songs, nursery rhymes, and other simple activities introducing toddlers to books, stories and, libraries. For children ages one through two years and caregivers.
Community Bible Study
(Look for a class with NextGen Ministry. They offer classes for the Homeschooled children.)
Wild and Free
This beautiful homeschool community is meant to be a welcoming place for all. No curriculum, race, philosophy, or religious affiliation should get in the way because we have so much to learn from each other. We want every group to be open to all mamas who desire to give their children a quality education, while also preserving the adventure and wonder of childhood.

McDowell Nature Center provides educational programs and resources at the County’s oldest nature preserve. The nature center features live native animals, a discovery hall and a gift shop.
