Statement of Faith
ROOTED HOMESCHOOL CO-OP STATEMENT OF FAITH
"Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude." Colossians 2:6-7
Rooted Homeschool Co-op was founded on our belief in God and the notion that our life should be rooted in Him and we look to Him for all our answers and in all that we do. Homeschooling our children can be so rewarding, but it can also be difficult. We pray that we can all come together and make that calling a little bit easier on each of you. We
hope to grow, not only as a family, but in our faith together as believers. Below you will find our beliefs and your requirement in order to join our co-op.
1. We believe that God is the creator of all things, infinitely perfect and existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1-2; John 1:3)
2. We believe that the Bible is the holy, inerrant, and only inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
3. We believe salvation is available to all people and only through grace and through the shed blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-9)
4. We affirm the belief that marriage is between one man and one woman. (Romans 1:18-32; Matthew 19:4-5)
5. We believe God made us either male or female, and we do not get to choose our own identity. (Genesis 1:27, 31; Mark 10:6)
*All curriculum taught must be aligned with and not in contradiction to these beliefs in any way.
In joining our co-op, you commit to living out these principles in your daily life in order to model a relationship with Christ for the students. We ask that everyone at our co-op live lives of integrity. None of us are perfect, and we will extend grace in that respect. But we are trying to build a community rooted in Christ.
"And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in His sight." 2 Peter 3:14
"Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord." Psalm 119:1
Any problems that arise with others should be dealt with according to Matthew 18:15-17. Do not gossip to others about the issue, but go directly to the person involved to resolve the problem. If you are unable to resolve a dispute on your own, please bring it to the attention of someone on the leadership board.
Children and parents should exhibit godly character, behavior and communication. There should be no rude speech or gossiping among children or parents. This is vital to keeping a healthy, God glorifying atmosphere within our group.
"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
Ephesians 4:29-32
