FAQs
Q: |
Is Rooted a drop off co-op? |
A: |
No. Rooted is a parent-led cooperative, which means at least one parent or guardian must remain on-site and actively participate each week by serving in a teaching, assistant, or support role. We believe that community thrives when families learn and grow together. |
Q: |
What ages or grades do you serve? |
A: |
We currently serve children from infancy through 8th grade, with classes divided by developmental stage. Each semester’s schedule may vary slightly based on member participation and teacher availability. |
Q: |
Do you offer a trial day? |
A: |
Currently, we do not offer trial days. However, we host an Open House each spring where prospective families can visit, meet our members, observe classes, and learn more about what Rooted has to offer. Check back in the spring for more details |
Q: |
How much does it cost to join Rooted? |
A: |
Each family pays a registration fee per year to help cover facility use, supplies, and administrative costs. There is also a supply fee per child, per semester to cover class costs. A detailed breakdown is available upon request. |
Q: |
Do teachers get paid? |
A: |
No. Rooted is a true cooperative—our classes are taught by parent volunteers. Any class fees collected are strictly to cover the cost of supplies or curriculum, not compensation. |
Q: |
Are there any discounts or scholarships available? |
A: |
At this time, we do not have a formal scholarship program, but we strive to keep costs as low as possible and may be able to work with families on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to our leadership team if finances are a concern. |
Q: |
What if I need to withdraw after paying? |
A: |
Because our fees go directly toward planning and shared expenses, registration fees are non-refundable. We encourage families to attend our Open House or interview to ensure it’s the right fit before committing. |
Q: |
How do I pay my fees? |
A: |
Payments can be made through the Homeschool-Life website using accepted payment methods listed during registration. All fees must be paid before the first day of co-op unless other arrangements are made. We also accept cash or check. |
