Anna McCausland

Anna is an experienced educator with over 22 years in public schools, holding a Master of Arts in
Education from Pacific Lutheran University, where she graduated on the Dean’s List. She began
her career teaching Language Arts and Social Studies before specializing in Math, later serving as
Math Department Head and contributing to leadership initiatives including the Building Leadership
Team and School Improvement Plan. Anna also supported STEM programs and coordinated a
Math Mentor Program for five years. In addition to her professional work, she homeschooled her
four children.

Carla Strunk

Carla is a former homeschool mom. Her homeschool journey began in 2002 and continued until
the graduation of her youngest in 2019. When two of her five sons took an Institute for
Excellence in Writing class at their homeschool co-op, she learned the writing system alongside
them. Through helping her own children, she discovered a love for writing and grammar. Carla
later taught Student Writing Intensive B at First Class Kitsap co-op and continued to teach IEW
classes for the next five years. As much as Carla enjoys writing, she will tell you the best part
about teaching homeschoolers is getting to know the students.
