About Us
D6 is a group of over 35 homeschooling families with over 100+ children, that share our strengths via parent-led classes. We are a Christian group, so prayer and creation-based material will occur freely. We are nondenominational and do not use any particular curriculum for our classes.
We meet in Mentor on Tuesday mornings for 11 weeks in the Fall and 11 weeks in the Spring. We have 2 class periods, each an hour in length. We offer classes for every age, from infants to 18-year-olds. Some classes we have previously offered include STEM, art classes, statistics, cake decorating, creative writing, LEGO classes, biology labs, and gym classes. Classes are better described as supplemental vs. core curriculum. All parents either teach a class or help in the classrooms as we are not a drop off program.
Along with offering classes, our goal is to build a community of faith and fellowship by planning Mom’s Nights Out and field trip opportunities every few months.
Our annual membership fee is $70.00/family. This fee covers our price for the church, group supplies, and any other incidentals that might come up during the year. We do require a background check for all new families, which has a one-time cost of $20.
Other costs can occur if you select a class with a supply fee or choose to attend a field trip with an entrance fee. We also have a showcase at the end of each semester, which might require a cost but would be minimal.
If you would like to coordinate a time to tour, you are welcome to come during our class time during our Fall or Spring Sessions. This time allows you to see the classes in progress and observe how they are structured. This also gives us time to answer any questions you might have.
The next best step is to reach out for a tour of our co-op or fill out the application so we can review it and place you on the wait/interested family list.
Thank you for your interest and please let us know if you have any questions!
