Biology, Anatomy & Physiology 2-Day Lab Intensive

Landry Academy is sending Professor Lori Higgins to Rapid City to conduct a 2-Day Biology, Anatomy & Physiology Lab Intensive.
Biology/Anatomy will be approached from a Christ-centered viewpoint in a caring and fun atmosphere.
In this lab, students will learn to write college-quality lab reports, conduct hands-on experiments, and think critically as a scientist. The scope of this intensive reaches beyond what most high school students experience in public schools.
Six different animals will be dissected in an autopsy procedure at a level that is found in college. Each student will do his or her own blood typing and DNA extraction, pulmonary analysis as well as a ten parameter urinary analysis. Genetics, diseased and healthy lungs, pancreas response, urinary system and more will be studied.
At the end of the intensive, students will have a full lab manual to show for their hard work. Credit can be issued for this Lab.
Ages - suggested for 7th - 12th
Prerequisites - none
Lunch - provided both days
Supplies - included
- lab manual, t-shirt, safety goggles, lab specimens, microscopes, stereoscopes and supplies will be provided.
Location - First Wesleyan Church, downtown Rapid City off East St. Patrick on Maple and St. Francis
