Welcome to Kankakee Christian Home Educators   (KCHE)

Welcome to Kankakee Christian Home Educators’ Web Site.

Kankakee Christian Home Educators (KCHE) is a support group with many Members from Kankakee, Will, Cook, Grundy, Livingston, Ford and Iroquois Counties.  Our mission is to create a learning place where homeschoolers can explore new topics together, challenge their minds and allow homeschool parents to share their passions and expertise.

Our group hosts many events, including a Learning Co-Op, Bowling, Ice Skating, Family Swim, Field Trips and many other wonderful experiences. Parent involvement is an important part of creating a safe and fun environment for our children. Most events have a limit to the number of participants, including our Learning Co-Op. By joining our support group, you are not guaranteed a place in our events. Many are first come first served in the sign up process.

Please feel free to browse our open pages for more info or contact .

If you would like to become part of our group, click on the "Request Membership" link for more information.

My son, observe the commandment of your father and do not forsake the teaching of your mother; bind them continually on your heart; tie them around your neck.

Proverbs 6:20,21 KCHE Mission Statement

Our mission is to offer support to Christian families in their home education endeavor, provide group experiences that could not be achieved as a single-family unit, give families the chance to serve each other and the community. By doing so, we encourage the development of our children’s God-given abilities.

KCHE exists to support parents as they train their children by:

  1. Providing a place to meet like-minded people for encouragement and fellowship.
  2. Providing information pertaining to home education

KCHE Statement of Faith:

  1. We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith and life.
  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension and His imminent bodily return in power and glory.
  4. We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone can be saved.
  5. We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose substitutionary death on the cross paid the penalty for man’s sin.
  6. We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict men, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers through our common faith in Jesus Christ and that individual doctrinal differences which may exist should not hinder the unity of Christian home educators.
