Check the calendar. Click on any event listed on the calendar for more information. There is an ongoing “Upcoming Events” listed on the member home page. You can also sign up for the event, contact the event coordinator, and see who else has signed up.

Check the message board.  There are often discussions and reminders listed there.

Q:

How do I contact KCHE?

A:

Contact information can be found on the "Contacts" tab on menu of the homepage.

Q:

What does my membership fee cover?

A:

Your yearly membership fee covers costs to run KCHE including insurance, website fees, and various activities.  Being a member gives you access to activities, information on our website, co-op opportunities, graduation ceremonies, planned field trips, and support through your homeschool journey.

Q:

How much time must the student spend on home-schooling?

A:

Illinois law does not set any minimum number of hours per day, or days of instruction per year, for students in private schools. However, the Illinois courts have ruled that home-schooling must provide an education that is equivalent with the standards set for public schools. (e.g. Scoma v. Chicago Board of Education, 391 F.Supp. 452 (N.D. Ill. 1974)).
