Mrs. Dawn Parr To All Instructors

It is my goal for students to be critical thinkers, expressing those thoughts in a concise, cohesive manner, whether in written or oral communication. I strive to encourage students to develop a lifelong interest in learning.

Earning a Bachelor’s of Arts in Criminal Justice at Indiana University-Bloomington and a Masters of Public Affairs at IUPUI, I combined both degrees and worked six years as the Personnel Manager for the Indianapolis Police Department before leaving to raise a family. My work concentrated in professional writing and presentations.

I am married to Randy Parr, and we have three adult sons whom we home-educated for twelve years.  Upon entering the homeschool community, I became involved with SCHA’s predecessor group, teaching several classes. Assisting with the formation of SCHA, I have taught several classes since its inception:  writing, literature, speech, debate, and civics. I currently teach all of the language arts classes.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, and relaxing at the beach while working on my grammar textbook.
