More About SCHA

Our instructors hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree or have professional experience in the area they instruct--most are current or former homeschool parents themselves.

SCHA encourages parents to review an instructor's selected curriculum prior to registering for class. Parents are required to directly guide, mentor, and oversee their childrens' academic work at all times.

Our purpose is to provide supplemental instruction along with the parent who does not feel comfortable solely teaching a subject, bearing in mind always that parents are responsible for raising their children to an educated maturity.

All in-person classes meet for two hours a week on either Mondays or Thursdays at Crosspointe Community Church in Greenwood, IN.  Online classes meet weekly on Wednesdays for two hours a week.  Our instructors grade all assignments, papers, and tests and provide a syllabus with detailed assignments for each week.  Instructors provide parents with a percentage score for use in their homeschool.  SCHA does not provide transcripts.

Costs for our classes:

$400 per class per year.  Payable directly to instructors in $100 quarterly installments. Some classes also have lab fees, copy fees, or supply fees associated with them.   These are kept as low as possible.

There is a Family Facility Fee, which is $90 - Payable directly to "Crosspointe Community Church" during the first week of classes in the fall.  This is not a tax-deductible charitable donation.

$30 Admin fee per student for current members, if registered prior to April 4. $35 Admin fee per student for new/previous members  - Payable to "SCHA."  This payment covers administrative costs, accidental medical, and general liability insurance.
