Co-op Class Day Info

Class Meeting Dates for GATE Homeschool Association (GATE) are set with our host church each semester. We meet for 12 classes each semester.  Our fall semester begins in August and ends in November/December.  Our spring semester begins in January and ends in April. We have required Orientation/Member Meetings one week prior to the start of the semester  in August and January. We typically meet 3 out of 4 weeks every month. The fourth week is set aside for optional field trips and social opportunities.

Each co-op class day, set up begins at 8:45 a.m. At 9:00 we have our whole group Assembly, followed by classes for each age group until 11:55 a.m. Next, there is a 30 minute social time to allow students and parents to build community, enjoy recreation time, and have their snack from home.  At 11:00 we have one more hour of classes for all ages. All member families participate in clean up beginning at 12:00 p.m. to return the building areas to church use ready.  Following clean up, our members are welcome to stay and have lunch together outside. Sometimes, we leave the church campus for lunch at a park or restaurant.

Class offerings are developed through a process of input from the current members so that it meets the needs and desires of our members.  To understand how classes are determined for each semester click here. Preschool & Nursery classes are offered only for younger siblings of member families who have school age students (K-12) attending GATE classes. Moms must help in preschool at least one hour if you have a preschool age child. We ask that preschool children stay in the preschool rooms and not be "with mom" as she helps/teaches in other classes.
