Come and be encouraged as you listen to Kristen Ekenwiler in her workshop entitled:

What if your Child is the Fish that can’t Climb the Tree?

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” - Albert Einstein

Aha!  That moment when you finally hear your child being described and you don’t feel so alone.  What does it mean to be a visual-spatial learner?  Visual imagery plays a significant roll in their learning. If you show them directions to a model airplane…they are overwhelmed before you begin…BUT, show them the model first and the directions make sense!  Come learn how this represents 1/3 of all students … you may just find your child here and ways that you can adjust your teaching and curriculum to reach them.

Here is a little more about Mrs. Ekenwiler:

Kristen Eckenwiler...

Graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida, in Orlando where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education. She has worked in the public school classroom with first- second-, and fourth-grade students. Additionally, Kristen was heavily involved in gathering research data for the Voyager Reading Program, and the Literacy First Reading Program. She completed her Masters Degree in Reading from the University of Central Florida. Although both she and her husband possess current North Carolina teacher licenses, they have opted to have Kristen stay at home and homeschool their two sons. She has delivered workshops on a variety of topics, including struggling readers and learning disabilities at conferences up and down the east coast.  Kristen has taught classes in the Elementary Education Program at the collegiate level, and stays very busy with her husband as they offer testing, tutoring, and curriculum products to educators at every level.
