Welcome New Families

Welcome to 3:17 Hybrid School of Blythewood

Our name is inspired by the Bible verse James 3:17.  We desire to partner with homeschooling families as they model and teach godly wisdom to their children so that they can better represent Christ’s pure, peaceable, and gentle qualities to our world.

In the Fall of 2023 we are excited to offer a 6 hour, one-day or two-days a week drop-off, 30 week program for children K4-7th Grade. We will meet on Tuesdays from 9am-3pm and/or Thursdays from 9am-3pm at Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Rd., Blythewood, SC.

Our Mission

Our Mission

The name of our school is based on the Bible verse James 3:17. We desire to partner with families as they model and teach godly wisdom to their children so that they can better represent Christ’s pure, peaceable, and gentle qualities to our world. This is our primary mission under which everything else falls.

From a practical standpoint, as a school we want to come alongside homeschooling parents and guide and support them in their efforts to home educate. As we formulated our school and defined its mission, four key components were important to us: support for parents teaching multiple children, engaged and active learning, core subjects, and a drop-off program.

When at all possible, we have carefully selected curriculums that are easy to teach to multiple grades at one time. As homeschooling mothers of multiple children ourselves, we well know the challenges encountered when teaching multiple grades at once. We have sought to simplify the teaching process for the parents in our school while still maintaining a strong academic core.

We have also selected curriculums that are engaging and hands-on oriented instead of worksheet-oriented. While there is nothing wrong with workbooks and deskwork, and they do have their place, we have all experienced the benefit of deeper engagement and activity for our students. We have found this to be especially true for young elementary students. We firmly agree with neuro research that shows us that movement and learning go hand in hand. We want our students to love learning and be fully engaged!

We are a one-day-a-week (or two-day-a-week), drop-off program because we want to support parents by offering them a break. We (the founders) are all homeschooling moms and know the exhaustion and overwhelm that can at times be a part of homeschooling. There are no requirements for parents to volunteer or help out in any way.

We are offering core subjects because we want to serve our parents well. We want to teach core, foundational subjects for the parents so that their children’s experience at 3:17 enhances and propels their home learning experience forward.
