Thank you for your interest in The Harbor Homeschool Group.
We are a group seeking to support home educating families in the greater Morgan County area. Classes, Gathering Time, field trips, Mom’s Night Out events, and family gatherings are just some of the ways the Harbor desires to help make your home educating experience more rewarding and successful.
The primary goals of The Harbor are: to provide a safe Christian environment where families can build and strengthen relationships; to support, encourage, and pray for one another, especially in regard to their homeschool journey; and to seek to grow in knowledge and wisdom through various educational studies that are in accord with the Bible.
- The Harbor meets at Faith Church in Martinsville at the corner of Hwy. 37 and S.R. 44.
- We generally meet three Fridays a month.
- Our year begins the second Friday after Labor Day and ends before Memorial weekend.
- Our regular Friday classes run from 1:00 to 2:30. Optional Gathering Time runs from 2:45 to around 3:30 p.m. Gathering Time is a time when all ages can come together for a variety of activities and parties. Gathering Time is a great time for building relationships and making connections.
Please check out our Participation Guidelines for details on membership requirements.
***There is a registration fee for insurance and technology/administrative needs. We also have a required facility fee due in the fall to Faith Church. Each member participant must pay for a background check to be on file with the group. Classes are free except for curriculum or supply costs.
Please give this information and the Harbor prayerful consideration. If you decide to be a regular participant in the Harbor, remember that everyone’s help is required.
