Classes for 2026/2027
The Harbor offers classes from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Students participate in one class during that time.
Parents serve in either a class or other volunteer role at Harbor. For their first year at Harbor, new parents are encouraged to attend classes with their child and/or serve as helpers in a class (it does not have to be your child's class) in order to learn the Harbor culture.
The classes for 2026/2027 are:
- Nursery: newborn - age 2
- A place to care for our youngest Harbor members.

- Preschool: ages 3-4
- Preschoolers will enjoy a themed story time, craft, snack, and plenty of playtime each week.

- K-1st
- This year we will focus on reading to the students and learning about the cycles of life. We have a craft most weeks and a snack every week.

- 2nd-3rd

Exploring World Geography & Art! This year students will be exploring countries from all 7 continents as we learn some of the culture, customs, and geography that make each unique. We will also be creating an art project based on an artistic style or artist from each country. “Geography days” usually alternate with “art days.”

- 4th-5th
- This class exposes students to a wide variety of topics; the goal is to have fun and learn together. This year students will be covering: government, drawing, public speaking, and Greek & Latin roots, along with some parties, guest speakers, and field trips.

- Middle School (6th, 7th, 8th):

The middle school class material varies throughout the year to keep students engaged and exposed to a wide variety of topics. Topics include US National Parks, survival skills, art & drawing, drama, group projects and presentations as well as a portion of class each week set aside for learning music via recorder lessons. (all students will need to purchase a recorder)

- High School (pick one): All high school classes will have graded homework assigments and/or projects and tests. Students will recieve a grade for the course completed. Each course is the equivelant of one semester (1 credit in Indiana). Note: 8th graders may choose to enroll in a High School class if they are mature/responsible enough to fulfill class requirements.
- The Art of Photography class is hands-on where students will learn how to take creative and meaningful photos using a camera or smartphone. Throughout the year, students will explore photography skills such as composition, lighting, portraits, landscapes, action photography, close-up photography, editing, and visual storytelling.
- Physical Education: This dynamic PE class focuses on building strong foundational movement skills through structured games, drills, and age-appropriate sports. Students will learn and practice proper body mechanics, balance, coordination, agility, and spatial awareness in a fun and encouraging environment.
- WW1 & WW2 History: World War I killed millions and shattered an entire generation, so how, a mere twenty years later, did the world embark on another conflict on an even larger scale? We will explore this question through a global history of the two largest wars humanity has ever fought.
