TriCity Impact Group

TriCity Impact Group - Newcastle, Oklahoma

The TriCity Impact Group is a Christian group, comprised of families from the Tri City area of Oklahoma that educate their children from home. Impact has members from Newcastle, Blanchard, Tuttle, and surrounding areas. As a Christian group, the Leadership Team submits all things in prayer to the Lord and prays over each family. We begin each co-op day with prayer.

TriCity Impact Group is a community of like-minded parents that journey on this “different” path of educating their children. It is a community where children connect and play with others that do school at home, on the road, in the library, etc. It is a community where we encourage each other, have fun together, and make memories for our families.

Impact is a parent-driven group. What we "do" depends largely on the interests and contributions of families. Past activities include:  field trips, holiday events, geography fair, mystery of history, mother/son event, father/daughter event, game nights, and Mom's Night Out. There is an annual Group Fee of $15/family to participate in the Impact group.

Impact Co-op meets weekly on Mondays at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. All classes are tutored copperatively by parents. The co-op does not offer or ascribe to any particular curriculum or teaching style. A meeting is held each semester to discuss class needs and ideas. Ultimately, it is the unique conglomeration of parents’ education, experience, and interests that make co-op a fruitful educational experience. Co-op consists of 3 classes (1 hour each) and an hour for lunch/recess. There are 14 weeks in each semester. Classes in the past have included: cooking, astronomy, cultures of the world, STEM, etc. There is a semester Co-op Fee of $25/family for participation in Co-op. Class fees may be charged by Tutors depending on the supply needs of the class.

We want families to be successful and have the best co-op experience! It is important for families (adults AND kiddos) to make meaningful connections before being in classroom situations. For these reasons, we ask that families participate in at least 3 activities to meet other families and get to know the group before participating in co-op.

Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith (7/23)

We believe that Tri City Impact is a ministry opportunity for our members and as such we require that one parent/legal guardian of the member family must sign the TriCity  Impact Group statement of faith as well as a code of conduct every year at membership renewal time. One signature is required as a representative of the whole family's consent and agreement with the statements contained therein.

Tri City Impact is, by design, a Christian group. Impact is not, however, associated with any denomination. We believe each family is to instruct their children in Scripture, in accordance with their own doctrine and convictions.

Our Statement of Faith concerns the Person and Work of Jesus Christ (the Gospel) revealed in Scripture. It is that faith once delivered to the saints  (Jude 3, Eph. 4:5) which distinguishes believers from non-believers. There  are many other precious truths taught in the Bible over which godly men  have differed in understanding. Therefore, this is not a statement of all that  is important to believe but of all that is essential to believe for Christian  fellowship and unity (Rom. 15:7).

Tenets:

a. We believe that the Bible is the only inspired, inerrant. and infallible Word of God. (II Tim. 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21)

b. We believe in the Trinity. (I John 5:7)

c. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God and  fulfilled all prophecies concerning the Messiah. (Luke 24:25-27)

d. We believe all humans are sinful by nature. (Rom. 3:9-18, Rom.  5:12)

e. We believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ as Savior and that  it is only by His blood that men will live in Heaven. (Heb. 10:8-14)

f. We affirm the biblical definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9).

g. We affirm God's definition of gender as assigned at birth and stated in Genesis 5. God has created us male and female intentionally and with a purpose. (Genesis 5, Psalms 139, Mark 10:6-9)

h. We strive to actively pursue freedom in Christ and to glorify the Lord in all areas of our lives; at home, work, and in education.
