What is Anchored's daily, weekly, and yearly schedule?

Answer

Daily/Weekly Schedule:

Anchored classes meet from August until mid-December and January until early-May.  

  • Elementary Classes are offered one day a week, typically Tuesdays 9:00am to 2:30pm
  • MIddle School classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 3:00pm
  • High School classes  are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 3:00pm

What grades are offered at Anchored Christian Education Center?

Kindergarten through 12th grade.

What is the procedure for joining Anchored Christian Education Center?

Answer

New families are required to complete a New Family Questionnaire, take a campus tour, and attend a registration meeting.  Families must agree to our Statement of Faith and commit to actively participating with ACEC for the school year.

What is Anchored's Dress Policy?

Answer

At ACEC, we encourage everyone to dress in a manner that reflects Christian values. While we respect students'
individuality and self-expression, we ask that students thoughtfully consider their daily attire and the message it
conveys to others. Please refrain from wearing clothing that could be considered inappropriate, revealing, or that
promotes values contrary to our faith. Let your attire reflect respect for yourself, others, and God. The Leadership
Team reserves the right to determine if any article of clothing is inappropriate and will address each situation
accordingly.

Is Anchored accredited?

Answer

Anchored is not an accredited school; however, all high school core classes, as well as most electives, meet NCAA accreditation standards. If a class is not accredited, this will be clearly noted in the course description. The decision to seek external accreditation for a child is at the discretion of the parent.

Are parents required to participate?

Answer

As a parent-led co-op, our success relies on the active contribution of our families. A parent from each enrolled family is required to fill an available parent partner position. Failure to fulfill an assigned role can create operational challenges, including lack of supervision, disorganized events, and increased strain on the other families and facilitators. Consequences of not fulfilling your assigned duty may include a warning, reassignment to a different role, and/or ineligibility to return the following school year. Our Parent Liaison is the point of contact for any concerns.

How is your Leadership Team structured and formed?

The ACEC Leadership Team is comprised of volunteers dedicated to guiding and maintaining the educational, ethical, and social environment of our organization. Members must be a parent of a currently enrolled student or a current facilitator. Each member serves a three-year term, which may be extended with Leadership Team approval. When a new member is needed, a Nominating Committee—consisting of one parent, one facilitator, and one board member—will be formed to identify a suitable candidate. The Leadership Team will then vote on the nominee. Once selected, the new member will begin shadowing the outgoing member in January. The incoming member officially assumes responsibilities in June.

Responsibilities

Parent Responsibilities

Answer

As your child's legal teacher, you play the leading role in their education, with ACEC here to support you. We offer classes twice a week to introduce new material and assign homework, while you are responsible for purchasing the required curriculum and school supplies. In collaboration with the facilitator, you’ll provide additional instruction at home, assist with homework, and ensure assignments are completed on time. If your child requires extra help, it is your responsibility to arrange for tutoring. To stay connected, please keep your contact information up to date, check and respond to ACEC emails regularly, and manage your child’s Google Classroom account. If your child will be absent, notify the facilitators via text or email. Reasonable accommodations will be made at the facilitator’s discretion. Additionally, the state of Georgia requires parents to file an annual Declaration of Intent, conduct testing every three years, maintain records of attendance and grades, calculate GPA, and create transcripts. By fulfilling these responsibilities, you help ensure a successful and structured learning experience for your child.

Student Responsibilities

Answer

Students are responsible for being respectful and kind to their classmates, facilitators, and school leadership. They should attend classes regularly, arrive on time, and come prepared with all necessary materials and assignments. Active participation in class, staying engaged, and putting in their best effort on homework and projects are essential. Following school rules, respecting school property, and contributing to a safe and welcoming environment are also important responsibilities. If students face challenges, they should speak up and ask for help while striving to do their best and grow as learners. In case of an absence, students are still responsible for completing all assignments on time, as unsubmitted work will receive a grade of zero.

Facilitator Responsibilities

Answer

Our facilitators are here to support you in teaching your children. They focus on delivering engaging in-class instruction and assigning meaningful at-home work to reinforce learning. If a student is absent, facilitators will provide reasonable accommodations at their discretion. They keep Google Classroom up to date with assignments and grades to ensure clear communication. Facilitators follow accreditation standards for high school-level courses and uphold Christian values in their speech and actions. Most importantly, they work to create a structured and disciplined learning environment where students can grow and succeed
