Home School Legal Defense Association
The Home School Legal Defense Association is a non-profit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedoms. Through annual memberships, HSLDA is tens of thousands of families united in service together, providing a strong voice when and where needed.
Minnesota Association of Christian Home Educators (MACHE)
Mache is comparable to WisCHEA for Minnesota. Many homeschoolers in our area attend the MACHE conference in the Spring of the year due to it's proximity.
National Challenged Homeschoolers Associated Network (NATHHAN)
This is a Christian support organization for homeschooling children with special needs.
Wisconsin Christian Home Educators' Association (Wis CHEA)
This is the State-wide Christian homeschooling organization. They have Spring and Fall conferences each year, ususally in Oconomowo, WI. Check this website for conference information, resources, and handbooks for sale, and other info.
Wisconsin Parents Association
The WPA is a statewide information/support resource for homeschoolers. They also do lobbying in Madison to protect our homeschool freedoms. They have a handbook for sale, and they have a very helpful phone recording about beginning to homeschool in Wisconsin. This is a non-religiously-based group. They have a Spring conference in Stevens Point each year which is very informative.

Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI)
To comply with Wisconsin state education laws you will need to submit form PI-1206 to the DPI by October 15 of each year, or if you are removing your children anytime after the school year has begun. It's all done online and takes just a few minutes.
