EASTs - Enrichment, Academics, and Socialization for Tweens, Teens, and their siblings.
Welome to EASTs, a co-operative learning community, offering shared teaching and learning, where an adult from each family contributes by teaching or assisting in classes. Our focus is on the needs of homeschooled tweens and teens, and their younger siblings. During the regular school year, we meet once a week on Fridays at A Community of the Servant-Savior Presbyterian Church in the Sagemont area. We also periodically offer Mom's Night Out events, field trips, and other organized social opportunities for our families.
We are an inclusive group - every homeschool family is welcome.
We welcome all families with a wide variety of religious beliefs and non-belief and do not require families to sign a statement of faith. We do not discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, learning differences, family status, etc. Our mission is to provide a place where all homeschool families feel like they belong.
Our classes are usually offered for at least three levels which are roughly based on age/grade; however, classes change each semester, depending on what the students want or need to learn, and what the parents want to teach. We offer a mix of full-curriculum academic classes that can count toward High School credit and “just for fun” enrichment classes. Because all children are different we allow flexibility as to which "grade level" you place your child.
Some of our past offerings have included biology, Spanish, photography, cooking, electronics, computer applications, general science labs, gaming, literature, SAT practice, woodworking, and weight training. You can find our current classes on the "Classes Offered" tab.
