TACHE Used Book Sale - Seller FAQ

Do I have to be a member of TACHE to sell?
No, but TACHE members do not have limits on how much they can sell.  Also, we generally offer other benefits for members, like early registration or early shopping privileges, which may vary year to year.

What types of items do you accept?
The focus of the sale is books, particularly homeschooling curriculum.  Sellers also bring in parent resources, educational games, computer software, and videos. We ask that non-book items be related to homeschooling. If you unsure if something qualifies, contact us and ask. Please make sure that all items are in good condition and relatively current.  (With a few exceptions, First Edition curriculum will probably not sell if the Third Edition has already been published.)  Items that are illegal to sell or are inappropriate will not be accepted. Also, it is your responsibility to abide by copyright agreements regarding items you bring in.

Is there a fee to sell? Does TACHE keep a percentage?
No and No. The sale is an outreach ministry of TACHE. Sellers keep all proceeds.

How do I register as a seller?
Seller registration opens in March every year. There will be a link to register on the TACHE Website calendar at that time.

How do sellers know how to label / price / categorize their books?
Once you register as a seller, you will be sent a .pdf document with details on how to label everything. Prices are determined by the seller, and you decide if you want your books to be discounted on half-price day.

How much am I allowed to sell?
TACHE members have no limit. Non-members are limited to 4 boxes.

Do Sellers / TACHE members / Volunteers get to shop early?
Volunteers get to shop first. We also have an early shopping period for TACHE members. Non-members do not have early shopping privileges.

When can I pick up my unsold books / money?
All unsold books and cash MUST be picked up after the sale on Tuesday,  usually within 4 hours of the sale closing.

What if I can’t pick up my books at that time?
During drop-off, you may designate a representative to pick up your cash and unsold books. You will need to fill out the appropriate form and provide the name of the person who will pick up for you. Please plan ahead and make sure your representative knows to arrive on time.

What if I don’t want my unsold books back? Can I just leave them here?
You must remove your unsold items from the sale floor before picking up your cash. If you don’t want your unsold items, there are many places you can donate them, such as the Salvation Army or the Tyler Literacy Council.
