Q: |
I want to enroll in HCS. What are my next steps? |
A: |
1. Fill out the application on the hcsdothan.org website. This sends your contact information to us so we can call you and answer any questions you have. 2. Ask someone on the pastoral staff of the local church you attend to send an email from a church email address or an email on church letterhead that contains a signature. This email or letter must state the pastor knows your family and your family attends regularly. Note this must come directly from a pastor at your church and not from other staff members. 3. When we receive your pastor letter, someone will contact you, most likely by text, and set up a meeting in order for us to fill out the proper forms and get you on the member sites. Please not this is not an interview. This meeting is administrative in nature. Children are not required to attend, but are welcome. It will take approximately an hour. 4. Once you are enrolled, we require membership in the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA). Your HSLDA account number will be used as your Harvest Christian School membership number. |
Q: |
Who chooses my curriculum? |
A: |
Academic classes taught through the HCS Co-Op have suggested curriculm. Parents are always free to choose the subjects and textbooks used in their homes. While HCS does not require specific Christian published curriculum, HCS does requires subjects be taught from a Christian perspective. We also require some form of Bible instruction each year. HCS is happy to help families find the curriculum that best meets their needs. |
