Nick Baade To All Instructors

Nick Baade has been teaching in public and private classrooms for over two decades. A Senior Chief, he has served 23 years as a sonar technician, electrical engineer, and a submarine instructor for the U.S. Navy. Baade's most recent positions in education have included training commands in sonar theory, sonar maintenance, network system maintenance, security management, and tactical use of the ocean environment, for which he was named one of the topmost expert instructors in the submarine force.

Baade has taught diverse groups of commands, with students of all ages, all ranks, and trained both enlisted and officers, from entry level seamen through Captains and high ranking Commanding Officers. He was awarded the U.S. Submarine Learning Facility Senior Instructor of the Year, and developed training that has been implemented Navy wide on all levels of command.

Currently, Baade trains fleets for overseas work and deployments that take service members to all parts of the globe. He is the Senior Department Advisor and creates training programs that he oversees for carry-out in real world application. In his free time, Baade loves to spend time with his wife and two homeschooled children (currently in 3rd and 9th grades), substitute teaching for fellow educators, and providing technical, manual, security, and volunteer assistance to Homeschool Plus. He has had the honor of doing videography for HSP since 2020, especially for HSP Performing Arts, concerts, and recitals. With retirement approaching at 24 years service, Baade expects to continue his teaching in new directions. He reflects that it gives great joy to see students grasp new material and come to understand complex concepts in ways that lead to application in their lives.
