2026-27 Class Descriptions
Art & Design
Ages: 9-12, 13+
Materials Fee: $15
In Art & Design, students will learn that art growth only comes from stepping out and trying. Anyone can learn these skills and improve on them with practice. We will work together on a variety of assignments to gain skills and confidence. We will explore various art styles using different mediums, learn about the art styles and techniques of a few famous artists, past and present, and discover how design can be both useful and beautiful.
Baking Around the World
Ages: 9-12, 13+
Materials Fee: $25 + Please bring an apron to protect clothing
In this class, we will be baking popular desserts from America, England, Japan, and Mexico! We will end the year with cake decorating skills. Please note, while this class will be free from peanuts and treenuts, we can not accommodate other allergies or dietary restrictions. If your child has other dietary restrictions, we advise you not to choose this class.
Crafts and Activities
Ages: 6-8
Materials Fee: $5
This is a fun and interactive class for kids that is a mix of games such as relay races, scavenger hunts, crafts, and the occasional lego building competition.
Chess
Ages: 9-12. 13+
Materials Fee: $5
Kids get together to play chess with one another to learn strategy and develop critical thinking skills. Every class will have a short lesson on chess rules and strategies, and most of class time will be playing chess. We will end the year with the annual ECHO chess club tournament, and ribbons will be awarded at the end of year showcase.
Drama
Ages: 9-12, 13+
Materials Fee: $10
This class focuses on building student self-confidence, cooperative learning, and creative expression. Students will build on basic acting skills through fun activities and skits in front of peers and adults, culminating in an end-of-year performance.
Foundations in Personal Finance
Ages: 13+
Materials Fee: $15
Equip your teen with vital money management skills through Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finance. Students will master budgeting, saving, debt avoidance, and investing through engaging video lessons and interactive activities, gaining the confidence to build a secure financial future.
Lego Architecture
Ages: 9-12
Materials Fee: $25
This hands-on, multidisciplinary class uses LEGO as the ultimate architectural medium. Students will explore structural engineering and historical design by building physical models of famous landmarks and their own custom structures.
Logic and Games
Ages: 6-8
Materials Fee: $10
Spark critical thinking and problem-solving skills in this interactive logic and games class! Students will explore deductive reasoning, spatial awareness, and strategic planning through hands-on board games, collaborative puzzles, and engaging mini-lessons tailored for curious minds.
Mechanical Engineering
Ages: 9-12, 13+

Preschool/ Kinder
Ages: 3-5 AND potty-trained
Materials fee: $17
Please Note: Our preschool class stays together the entire ECHO day and does not switch classes like the other groups. You will only need to choose preschool once. There is only one materials fee for the entire day.
This class will focus on playing and learning together through stories, crafts, and sensory activities.
Speech - Introduction to Speech
Ages: 9-12
Material fee: $12, plus have a 3-ring binder, a set of lined 3x5 cards, paper and pencil.
Join us as we play games to hone beginning public speaking techniques and get to learn how to write and present speeches. We will learn different kinds of speeches, read-alouds, and learn a lot about each other along the way. Students may have homework and will need to practice speeches at home.
Speech
Ages: 13+
Material fee: $12, plus have a 3-ring binder, a set of lined 3x5 cards, paper and pencil.
Join us as we learn how to write and present speeches. We will cover a variety of different kinds of speeches and play games to learn techniques to help us become better speakers. We will also learn a lot about each other throughout the year. Students will have homework. They will need to write some speeches at home, and practice speeches at home. Students that have taken this class before are welcome to take it again; we will be learning some new speeches this year.
Stories and Show 'N Tell
Ages: 6-8
Materials Fee: $10
Join us for fun stories and show ‘n tell! In this class, we will use storytime, Show ‘n Tell, and recitation of poetry to learn some public speaking techniques. We will play games that encourage good speaking skills and also do some projects along the way. Students will need to bring an item to Show ‘N Tell each week.
