This is open to ALL homeschoolers 4th -12th grade. Free to HOST members and $5 for each participant for non-HOST members

Our students are learning science, but are they excited about science?

Is your student curious? Do they want to know the "why?" and "how?" of everything? The science fair could be the starting point of their excitement and increased interest in science and of the world around them.  

 

Display board and age requirements:

4th-5th grade

  • Title 
  • Purpose 
  • Hypothesis  
  • Cited sources, at least three
  • Procedures
  • Measurable data with trials analysis and results (graphs, charts and tables)
  • Conclusions 
  • Life connections

6th-8th grade

  • Title

9th-12th grade

Safety Rules:

1. Safety first! Ask an adult for help.

2. All experiments should be supervised by an adult.

3. Do not eat or drink during an experiment (unless your experiment involves edibles).

4. Keep your work area clean.

5. Wear eye protection when doing any experiment that could lead to eye injury.

6. Do not touch, taste or inhale chemicals or chemical solutions.

7. Wash your hands after doing an experiment especially if you've been handling chemicals.

8. Use safety on the internet!

Science Fair Rules:

1. One student per entry.

2. Adults can help gather materials, supervise your experiment and even help build the display. They just can't be with you during the judging.

3.You cannot perform the experiment for the judges.  

4. You can mount things on your board for a type of 3D display, but remember that your board has to stand.

5. Limit your presentation speech to 5-7 minutes.
