My name is Hanna Henscheid, and I am so excited to be joining the Thrive family this year!

Here’s a little bit about me: I graduated from the University of North Texas (Go Mean Green!) and married my husband almost 10 years ago. I taught full time in a public school setting until we welcomed our daughter, Claire, in 2020. At that point, I transitioned from full time teaching to part time roles in various homeschool co-op settings so I could spend more time with my daughter, and I’ve enjoyed it so much. I think the only thing better than being a teacher is being a mom.

My family loves going to Disneyland together. We take our 5-year-old as often as our schedule allows. We also enjoy beach days and taking long walks with our dachshund mix, Joey, and our corgi, Penny.

Last February, we packed up all our belongings, said goodbye to our family and friends, and moved from Fort Worth, Texas, to San Diego, California. My husband works in ministry, and God brought him (and our whole family) to LifeBridge Church in Rancho Bernardo. He now serves as the Assistant Pastor of Worship and Discipleship, and I serve in various ministry and administrative roles. We’ve spent the past year and a half settling into San Diego and are loving it. We truly believe God brought us here for a reason, and I feel He led me to teach here at Thrive.

Since moving to San Diego, I’ve taken a break from teaching, but I am so excited to be getting back into the classroom. I’ll be teaching geometry this year, and while it’s my first year at Thrive, I’ve been teaching for the past 8 years in both public schools and homeschool co-op settings.

I’m passionate about helping my students not just learn content, but also develop skills they’ll use in and beyond the classroom like critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and communication. I can’t wait to explore geometry with you all!
