Classes

We meet on Mondays in Anderson, IN for two 12 week semesters per year.

We offer a variety of parent-led classes to children from Preschool to 12th grade. Children are divided into the following age groups: Preschool, 5-8 year olds, 8-12 year olds, and 12 and older. Nursery facilities are also available as needed. We are NOT a drop-off co-op; parent participation is vital to keeping our co-op the great place it has been for our children to grow socially and academically.

Each semester we are able to offer a variety of classes at each hour to best meet the needs of families in our co-op. In the past we have been able to offer core classes such as writing, literature, math helps, science labs, letter recognition and beginning reading. We have also enjoyed history and geography classes, financial education, debate, speech, language studies, and government and economics. Other electives you might find are physical fitness, arts, drama, music, band, and language studies. Each semester brings new and exciting opportunities. We hope you can join us!

Membership

Thank you for your interest in WRC Co-op. We are thankful for the growing interest in homeschooling in our area. WRC is limited to approximately 70 families, and unfortunately we do not have the space to accommodate more than this number. Applications are currently closed. We will post here the next time we will be opening them.

We want to be upfront with applicants that the timeline from submitting an application to enrollment may be as long as three to four years. Completing an application does not commit your family to anything. At any time, if you have questions or wish to withdraw your application, you are welcome to do so by emailing wrccoopinfor@gmail.com. Families are placed on the waiting list in the order applications are received, and once on the waitlist, you do not need to reapply each year. Your family will remain on the waitlist until you withdraw or a board member contacts you to set up an interview, which takes place each spring. WRC typically contacts families from the waiting list regarding potential membership in May and June, and families are always welcome to inquire about their waitlist status.

Prior to submitting an application, we encourage you to review WRC’s Bylaws, Guidelines, and Statement of Faith on this site to determine whether WRC would be a good fit for your family. Please note that WRC relies heavily on parental involvement and is not a drop-off organization. Parents serve as the teachers and leadership and are required to perform jobs that help maintain the building and support administrative activities. According to WRC’s Guidelines, each family must complete a total of three jobs to fulfill membership responsibilities. WRC is a private organization and reserves the right to decline offering membership to a family for any reason.

Thank you for considering WRC, and we look forward to joining you on your homeschooling journey.
